Wiyst Lerdualer-Meerdôr is a graduate landscape architect; he gained his doctorate in landscape design (1987) with a thesis on urban development in rural regions. Between 1990 and 1994, he was a professor at the Architectural Academy in Hoggebim, teaching landscape architecture and urban design. In 1995, he decided to start his own practice.
